PERSEVERING THROUGH TRIAL

The Bible makes this very clear. In Scripture, God gave us seven specific promises about how He helps us persevere through trials. (This excerpt was taken from an email from Jimmy Evans and his Tipping Point email.) 1. He rewards courage Rewards will be yours when you stand strong and do not let your faith waver: “But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”—2 Chronicles 15:7 2.

He elevates us Paul wrote to Timothy that the ability to withstand hardship earns the promise of ruling with the Lord, including during the coming Millennium: If we endure hardship, we shall also reign with him. If we deny him, he also will deny us.—2 Timothy 2:12 3.

He perfects us According to the psalmist, God promises to fulfill His purpose in you, to cover you with his steadfast love, and to never abandon you: The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.— Psalm 138:8 4.

He gives us strength Paul encouraged the Church at Philippi by telling them that the Lord will empower His people to handle every circumstance: Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.—Philippians 4:12-13 5.

He fills us with power and joy We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, 12 always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.—Colossians 1:11-12 (NLT) 6. He keeps us safe And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!—2 Timothy 4:18 7.

He helps us grow And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.—Romans 5:3-5

The Power to Withstand

If you have given your life to Jesus, He promises to rescue you. He has prepared for you an eternity of joy, pleasure and happiness. He wants better for you than you even want for yourself. He wants to help you with anything and everything. He will always be with you and He is listening to your prayers. Jesus Christ loves you more than anyone has ever loved you, and you can always ask Him for help.

Remember: The Lord is with you.

He will always be with you. He will never leave you.

He is gracious and patient and will never give up on you.

On your worst day, He will be your best friend. And regardless of what is going on in the world or what evil people are doing,

God is above it all. He is always in control. He exists outside of time, so He is already in the future! He is also with you right now, in the present. All-knowing and all-powerful, God is bigger than any problem or enemy. Depend on Him and He will be faithful to you!

PRAY. PREPARE. PROTECT. PROCLAIM. PERSIST. PERSEVERE. PRAY AGAIN. PASS IT ON. POWER UP. POSITION PROPERLY. PAY ATTENTION. PRAY WITHOUT CEASING.
